No one Knows about Persian Cats

Episode I:

"Fantastic,Awesome...what a great movie it was..."
This is the first reaction of you after watching this movie...Maybe some say that, this movie is...just a documentary about Iranian Modern Genre's musicians, but no!

Ghobadi once more has chosen an excellent idea. The idea is about Tehran's nowadays culture, poverty, dictatorship, paying no attention to talents and blah blah blah, and to reach his goal, he chooses language of music. because everyone in this world has a sense of music and can connect with music. Ghobadi goes through different genres of music by chasing two friends named Negar and Ashkan who want to go to England and create a band. they search for partners using the knowledge of a guy named Nader, he is a man who does anything, goes anywhere and talks to anybody to reach his goal.
Ghobadi uses the nature of documentary movies to affect on peoples thaught about the conditions of Iran. in the first hours after you watch the movie, you think that what you have watched is the reality itself, and Ghobadi has made a successful work and then here comes next...

Episode II:

You search the people who played the tracks in the movie...
First of all, Nader who sings in Folklore Genre, and the results are outstanding.
He is a superstar in Iran's cinema, a perfect actor and singer, despite of his appearance in the movie with his band called Darkoob.
then you search the metal band Nik Ayin... and see that they are not actually a farm players!
they are real artists and have a real band.
wow! you were mistaken by the screen!
you search Hichkas, the rapper of the movie and see that he has his album published. Although it is underground but has great reputation among Iranian Youth community.

then it is you to judge, what is the intention of the director to make such a movie?
He uses everything to just show the trash side of Tehran and Iran.
He doesn't pay attention to the brightness. at the end you can't get inspired by what you just watched...you just stand and feel pity for Iran.

On and on...the Execution of this project is awesome.Ghobadi made all his effort to reach his project to the peak.and he has been succeeded but after the first shock...It is up on the watcher to decide which side he is?
Persian Cats Or ...!

Women Without Men

Here is my question: how it is possible that a poor movie like this, won the Silver Lion for best director at Venezia 2009 festival! maybe i don't know Shirin Neshat, the movie's director and her previous artworks including her movies, but of course i can judge her directing. She's awfully giddy according to her direction in this movie, progressing the film without a coherent screenplay is just a game, a political game which indicates Iran's chaos in that period of time continued until now.

I think spending your time on watching this movie is just killing it.
many goofs make movie more intolerable for you. But if you really want to watch it then pull the trigger!

there are some scenes i want to talk about them very briefly but since neither i want to waste your time nor mine on this, i just talk about one of them : A scene which Munis is falling down of a building and dies, then her brother(Amir Khan) buries her in their garden. some days later her friend, Faezeh, during Amir Khan's wedding hear a sound from underground, and it was Munis calling for help! Such a ridiculous part it is, in a realistic story like this, how could that happen?only god knows.

at the end, if you watched it and enjoyed i totally respect your choice.

How to Train your Dragon

Oh, why do you seem so sad like this?! here is my advise, Train your dragon! I bet after watching this animation you feel better than now...

these days, animations become a part of our life that cannot be ignored. I love animation and its magical world, the world which our beloved characters can do anything and take us to this lovely universe which we don't want to get out from and always dream ourselves as the hero of the story, here, Hiccup!

the story is what you want, a boy who's weak. His friends always mock him and a father who's a real viking but he's shamed of his son because of his inefficiency!
when the story goes on, he strangely meets a Night Fury which have been hurt and trapped by Hiccup. He wants to become a real viking as what his father wants, so he intends to kill Night Fury - the Dragon - by his knife, but because the dichotomy inside him, he can't do that, instead he cuts off the snare and the story begins...

the story is based on imagination and you have to accept facing fantasy by illusive beings, but beyond this u can feel some tangible relationships which are familiar for us in our real world

overall the story is good enough to spend your time on it, and the ending is out of stereotypically!
don't miss watching it!

Shutter Island

It's happening in 50s.the aftermath of war shows itself in everything and most of all,in minds...
I don't want to talk about how impressive the cast and director performed.I just wanted to analyze the syndrome of this kind of movies that are spreading more and more.

Memento,Aviator,Machinist,Inception and blah blah blah...The directors have found how to bring people to cinemas...how to catch their mind and squeeze it to death...yes it is lied in mystery genre...these days everybody is saturated by action, love, biography movies...but Mystery is something else.

From this paragraph on those who have not watched the movie yet shouldn't read on.
DiCaprio has found his real place in today's cinema...solo roles are his profession.his mimics are awesome..when he gets hysteric and blinks you get that something is wrong with him.

Scorsese has again proven himself, his power, his profession to the world...with perfect navigation through dialogues, through fantasy dream.

but something annoyed me...that DiCaprio played the same role in two movies at one year...a man who dreams of his loved wife and wants to relieve himself by doing something terrible.

on and on I give 8.4 out of 10 for great acts, cinematography, directing, etc.
watch the movie and have a great and amazing tour in Martin's Delusional World.
